Target Information
GBA3 (cytosolic beta-glucosidase, EC 3.2.1.21) is a liver enzyme that hydrolyzes beta-D-glucoside and beta-D-galactoside, but not known physiologic beta-glycosides, suggesting a detoxification role for plant glycosides.
It also exhibits neutral glycosylceramidase activity (EC 3.2.1.62), indicating involvement in a nonlysosomal catabolic pathway of glucosylceramide metabolism.
