Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which includes more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. This enzyme, also known as aldehyde reductase, reduces biogenic and xenobiotic aldehydes and is expressed in virtually all tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, all encoding the same protein.
