Target Information

G-CSF (Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor) is a cytokine that stimulates the production and antibacterial activity of neutrophils and monocytes.
Human G-CSF is an 18.8 kDa protein with 175 amino acids and exists in multiple isoforms. It is produced by various cell types including monocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, astrocytes, osteoblasts, and bone marrow cells.

G-CSF regulates proliferation, differentiation, and activation of hematopoietic cells and is expressed in several transformed cell types. It interacts with its receptor on hematopoietic progenitors, neutrophilic granulocytes, and certain carcinoma cell lines.

Clinically, G-CSF is used in treatments for:

• Neonatal infections
• Acute myocardial infarction
• Neutropenia and severe infections
• Chronic autoimmune neutropenia
• Acute myeloid leukemia
• Sweet’s syndrome and AIDS

Additionally, G-CSF serves as a marker protein for various carcinomas and is associated with conditions such as Kostmann Syndrome.
