Target Information
CCDC123 (also known as CEP123 or CEP89) is involved in primary ciliogenesis and mitochondrial metabolism, potentially modulating complex IV activity. It localizes to the distal appendages of the mother centriole, with localization being cell cycle-dependent. CEP123 depletion can cause defects in ciliary vesicle formation and inhibit ciliary vesicle formation at the distal end of the mother centriole. It may play a role in regulating membrane recruitment to the centrosome.
