Target Information
MAP4K4 (HGK) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in stress-activated MAPK signaling pathways and responses to environmental stress and cytokines such as TNF-alpha. It acts upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway and interacts with SH3 domains of adapter proteins like Nck. HGK binds to the N-terminal region of SPG3A via its CNH regulatory domain. Expression is ubiquitous across tissues; isoform 5 is abundant in the brain, while isoform 4 predominates in the liver, skeletal muscle, and placenta.
