Target Information
RYBP is a component of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, which maintains transcriptional repression of various genes, including Hox genes, through chromatin remodeling and histone modification. The PRC1-like complex mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A at Lys-119, altering chromatin expressibility. It plays a role in X-chromosome inactivation, TP53 regulation, and apoptosis control via ubiquitin-mediated pathways. RYBP may function as a transcriptional repressor and is implicated in tumor growth suppression by down-regulating SRRM3 in breast cancer.
