Calcineurin은 T세포 수용체 매개 신호전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 하는 단백질입니다. 이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 활성형 calcineurin에 특이적으로 결합하여 calcineurin 매개 신호전달을 억제합니다. 해당 단백질은 핵 내에서 발견되며 leucine zipper 도메인과 여러 PEST motif를 포함하고 있습니다. 이러한 서열은 단백질의 표적 분해를 유도합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 두 가지 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이체가 생성됩니다.
