Target Information
TBK1 (TANK-binding kinase 1, also known as NAK or T2K) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the IKK family. It plays a key role in NF-κB activation and IRF3 signaling, acting as an essential mediator of gene expression during immune and inflammatory responses. TBK1 phosphorylates IKKβ and contributes to activation of NF-κB by promoting degradation of IκB. It is activated by growth factors and PMA, functioning upstream of NIK and the IKK complex. TBK1 is also critical for protecting embryonic liver cells from apoptosis.
