Product Specific Information
This antibody detects recombinant mouse (rm) CXCL17/VCC-1 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant human CXCL17/VCC-1 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
CXCL17 is a chemokine that acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is a mucosal chemokine that attracts immune cells to the lungs and plays a role in angiogenesis and tumor development. CXCL17 also functions as an anti-inflammatory factor in the stomach and may contribute to innate defense against infections. It activates the C-X-C chemokine receptor GPR35, inducing a transient rise in intracellular calcium levels. The 4-Cys form of CXCL17 shows higher chemoattractant potency for monocytes and macrophages than the 6-Cys form. Dysregulation of CXCL17 has been associated with diseases such as cholera.
