Target Information
Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe illness with occasional outbreaks primarily occurring in Africa. It affects humans and nonhuman primates such as monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees. EVD is caused by infection with viruses of the genus Ebolavirus. The VP35 protein in Ebola plays diverse roles in viral pathogenesis and life cycle regulation.
