Target Information
SAMSN (also known as HACS1) is a member of a novel gene family of putative adaptor and scaffold proteins containing SH3 and SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains. It encodes a 441 amino acid protein that is differentially expressed in hematopoietic cells and in malignancies such as myeloid leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. SAMSN shows restricted expression in human tissues and is up-regulated by B cell activation signals. It plays a role in B cell activation and differentiation as an immunoinhibitory adaptor, potentially useful for immune suppression therapy.
