Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant canine IL-5 and recombinant feline IL-5 is observed.
- 30% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-5, recombinant mouse IL-5, and recombinant rat IL-5 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils.
It regulates eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 levels are associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.
The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer sharing its beta subunit with receptors for IL-3 and GM-CSF.
IL-5, IL-4, IL-13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31, regulated by long-range elements over 120 kb.
