4-Aminophenyl sulphone (Dapsone)

4-Aminophenyl sulphone, commonly known as Dapsone, is an antibacterial compound belonging to the sulfone class.
It inhibits the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by competing with para-aminobenzoate (PABA) for the active site of dihydropteroate synthetase, thereby suppressing the growth of microorganisms that rely on endogenous folic acid synthesis.
