Target Information
This gene encodes an RNA-binding protein involved in growth regulation.
It is present in pre-ribosomal ribonucleoprotein complexes and may participate in ribosome assembly and rRNA processing.
The protein interacts with the ErbB3 receptor’s cytoplasmic domain, contributing to growth regulatory signal transduction.
It also acts as a transcriptional co-repressor of androgen receptor-regulated and other cell cycle genes via histone deacetylase interactions.
This protein is implicated in growth inhibition and differentiation induction in human cancer cells.
Six pseudogenes are located on chromosomes 3, 6, 9, 18, 20, and X.
