Target Information

EPHA5 belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors are implicated in developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. Protein kinases transfer phosphate groups from ATP to substrate proteins, mediating signal transduction and regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle, cytoskeletal rearrangement, movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. The tyrosine kinase group regulates cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility, and death. Approximately 90 TK genes have been sequenced, including 58 receptor TKs (e.g., EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, VEGFR) and 32 cytosolic TKs (e.g., ABL, FAK, JAK, SRC).
