MIP-1α (CCL3)와 MIP-1β는 구조적 및 기능적으로 유사한 CC 케모카인으로, 세균, 바이러스, 기생충, 진균 감염에 대한 숙주의 면역 반응에 관여합니다. 이들은 염증세포(예: 대식세포, 림프구, NK 세포)의 이동과 활성 상태를 조절합니다.
MIP-1α는 CD8⁺ 림프구를, MIP-1β는 CD4⁺ 림프구를 선택적으로 유인하며, 두 단백질 모두 B 세포, 호산구, 수지상세포에도 강력한 화학주성 작용을 보입니다. 인간 및 생쥐의 MIP-1α와 MIP-1β 모두 인간 및 생쥐 조혈세포에서 활성화됩니다.
