Product #31219 has been successfully used in Western blot, IF, ICC, ELISA, and IHC applications.
It reacts with the heavy chains of rat IgG and the light chains common to most rat immunoglobulins, but does not react against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins.
This antibody cross-reacts with guinea pig IgG and hamster IgG (1%) and shows minimal cross-reactivity with immunoglobulins from other species.

Target Information

Anti-Rat secondary antibodies are affinity-purified antibodies with well-characterized specificity for rat immunoglobulins.
They are useful in detection, sorting, or purification of specified targets.
Secondary antibodies offer increased versatility, enabling use of multiple detection systems (e.g., HRP, AP, fluorescence).
They also provide greater sensitivity through signal amplification as multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody.
Typically, secondary antibodies are generated by immunizing the host animal with pooled immunoglobulins from the target species and can be further purified or modified (e.g., immunoaffinity chromatography, antibody fragmentation, label conjugation) to produce highly specific reagents.
