Target Information

LDL-related proteins, LRP5 and LRP6, are members of the LDL receptor superfamily involved in the canonical Wnt signaling pathway.
LRP6 binds to Wnt1 and enhances Wnt-induced developmental processes in Xenopus embryos.
Mice lacking LRP6 exhibit developmental defects similar to those caused by deficiencies in Wnt proteins.
Wnt proteins induce the binding of LRP5 to Axin, leading to Axin degradation and β-catenin stabilization.
