Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody eBio12A5 recognizes FR4 (Folate Receptor 4), also known as FR delta or FBP3 (Folate Binding Protein 3). FR4 is a glycosylated 35 kDa receptor for folic acid and N5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Natural Treg cells express high levels of FR4, which, together with CD25, can distinguish Treg, effector, memory-like, and naive T cells.

• FR4 high CD25 high: Natural Treg cells with high Foxp3 expression
• FR4 high CD25 low: Central memory T cells that proliferate and produce IL-2
• FR4 low CD25 high: Effector memory T cells secreting IFN-γ and IL-17

Co-staining studies show that epitopes recognized by eBioTH6 and eBio12A5 are distinct, allowing functional studies using both antibodies.

Target Information

FR4 is a 35 kDa glycosylated receptor for folic acid and N5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Natural Treg cells express high FR4 levels and, along with CD25, can be used to distinguish Treg, effector, memory-like, and naive T cell subsets. In vivo studies with eBioTH6 have shown reduced CD4⁺CD25⁺ cell numbers and enhanced tumor response, leading to elimination of advanced tumors.
