This antibody is expected to recognize both reported isoforms (NP_067021.1 and NP_872580.1).
Tested in Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32,000.

Target Information

CTDSP1 is a class 2C phosphatase with activity dependent on the conserved DxD motif. Expression of CTDSP1 inhibits activated transcription from several promoter-reporter gene constructs, while a mutant lacking phosphatase activity enhances transcription.
Neuronal gene transcription is repressed in nonneuronal cells by the REST/NRSF complex, which recruits SCPs to neuronal genes containing RE1 elements, leading to silencing. Phosphatase-inactive SCP forms interfere with REST/NRSF function and promote neuronal differentiation of P19 stem cells. Similarly, RNA interference targeting the single Drosophila SCP unmasks neuronal gene expression in S2 cells. SCP activity is thus an evolutionarily conserved transcriptional regulator that globally silences neuronal genes.
