Target Information
BTLA (B and T-lymphocyte attenuator) is a member of the co-inhibitory receptors of the CD28 superfamily. It functions as a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor, regulating immune responses by inhibiting lymphocyte activation. BTLA is expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and decreases upon activation, remaining on Th1 but not Th2 cells. It interacts with HVEM, a TNF receptor superfamily member, forming an important pathway for lymphocyte activation and homeostasis.
