Background
Olfactory receptor family 4 subfamily Q member 3 (OR4Q3) is a G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) involved in odorant molecule recognition and signal transduction. These receptors share a seven-transmembrane domain structure common to many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, and the nomenclature for these genes and proteins is organism-specific.
