Target Information
SNAP29 encodes a protein that is part of the SNAP25 gene family, involved in multiple membrane trafficking steps.
Other family members, SNAP23 and SNAP25, bind syntaxin proteins and mediate synaptic vesicle docking and fusion to the plasma membrane.
SNAP29 binds tightly to multiple syntaxins and localizes to intracellular membranes, with a portion found free in cytoplasm.
Multiple polyadenylation sites are noted for this gene.
