This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed, and the best clones are selected for production.

Target Information

Acidic and basic fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) are multifunctional polypeptide growth factors that stimulate proliferation of mesenchymal, epithelial, and neuroectodermal cells. FGFs act by binding and activating specific cell surface receptors. Six members of the FGF receptor family have been identified: FGFR-1 (Flg), FGFR-2 (BEK), FGFR-3, FGFR-4, FGFR-5, and FGFR-6.
These receptors typically contain:

• Extracellular ligand-binding region with three immunoglobulin-like domains
• Transmembrane domain
• Cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain

FGFR-5 lacks the cytoplasmic kinase domain and is expressed in various tissues including kidney, brain, and lung, with preferential expression in the pancreas, where it may regulate pancreatic function.
