SCUBE2는 N-terminal EGF-like 반복과 C-terminal cysteine-rich motif 및 CUB domain을 포함하는 분비성 당단백질 계열의 구성원입니다. 배아 신경외배엽 및 혈관 내피에서 발현되며, SCUBE1과 이합체를 형성할 수 있습니다. SCUBE2는 Sonic Hedgehog(SHH) 및 수용체 PTCH1과 상호작용하여 SHH 신호 전달을 강화함으로써 기관 발달 및 종양 진행에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
