Target Information

Serine/threonine-protein kinase component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), a key regulator of mitosis.
The CPC complex ensures correct chromosome alignment and segregation, stabilizes microtubules, and regulates cytokinesis.
AURKB phosphorylates multiple CPC subunits and substrates (e.g., BIRC5, INCENP, CENPA, VIM, histone H3) to control mitotic processes.
Also involved in kinetochore localization of BUB1 and SGOL1 and regulation of p53 transcriptional activity.
Acts as a key regulator of active promoters in resting B- and T-lymphocytes.
