Target Information
MLH1 is a DNA mismatch repair protein essential for maintaining genetic integrity. Defects in mismatch repair pathways can lead to microsatellite instability (MSI) and have been associated with human carcinogenesis. Mutations in mismatch repair genes, including MLH1, are linked to hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPC). MSH2 participates in mismatch nucleotide recognition and forms a heterodimer with MLH1 and PMSH to facilitate subsequent repair steps.
