Target Information
The VAV3 gene belongs to the VAV gene family. VAV proteins function as guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases, activating pathways that regulate actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional changes. VAV3 acts preferentially as a GEF for RhoG, RhoA, and to a lesser extent, RAC1, associating maximally with the nucleotide-free states of these GTPases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
