Target Information
DnaJ heat shock induced proteins originate from Escherichia coli and are regulated by the htpR protein. They play a key role in the HSP70 chaperone system by stimulating ATP hydrolysis. These proteins contain cysteine-rich zinc finger domains responsible for peptide binding and chaperone function. DnaJ proteins mediate proteolysis and regulate protein degradation, exocytosis, and endocytosis.
DnaJB4 (DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 4), also known as HLJ1, is expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, and pancreas, with lower expression in brain, placenta, and liver.
