Target Information
The CREB5 gene encodes a member of the CRE (cAMP response element)-binding protein family. These proteins possess zinc-finger and bZIP DNA-binding domains and specifically bind to CRE sequences as homodimers or heterodimers with c-Jun or CRE-BP1, functioning as CRE-dependent trans-activators. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
