RP-77539 is a purified recombinant human MMP-13 protein (catalytic domain), expressed in E. coli.
It may be used as a control with corresponding anti-MMP-13 antibodies.

Target Information

MMP13 (collagenase 3) plays a role in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins including fibrillar collagen, fibronectin, tenascin-C (TNC), and aggrecan (ACAN).
MMP13 cleaves triple helical collagens (types I, II, and III) with the highest activity toward soluble type II collagen.
It can also degrade collagen types IV, XIV, and X.
MMP13 is involved in wound healing, tissue remodeling, cartilage degradation, bone development, mineralization, and ossification.
It is required for normal embryonic bone development and ossification.
Mutations in this gene may lead to disorders such as spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia Missouri type, metaphyseal anadysplasia 1, and metaphyseal dysplasia Sphar type.
