NIPSNAP 단백질은 진화적으로 잘 보존된 단백질 군으로, C. elegans 염색체 III에서 4-nitrophenylphosphatase (NIP) 도메인과 SNAP25 유사 비신경 단백질 사이의 중심 부분과 높은 서열 유사성을 가집니다.
NIPSNAP2는 티로신 인산화 부위와 막관통 도메인을 가진 새로운 단백질을 암호화하며, 전체 교종의 약 40%에서 EGFR과 함께 증폭됩니다.
NIPSNAP3B는 골격근에 높게 발현되며, NIPSNAP3A의 mRNA 수준은 낮습니다. NIPSNAP3A 단백질은 세포막에 결합하며 일부는 라프트에 국소화되어 있습니다.
NIPSNAP 단백질은 소포 운반 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 제안됩니다.
