Med30은 RNA polymerase II (Pol II) 전사 매개체 복합체의 하위 단위로, Pol II 의존적 유전자의 전사 조절에 관여하는 공동활성인자(coactivator)입니다. 이 복합체는 유전자 특이적 조절 단백질과 Pol II 전사 기계 사이의 정보를 전달하는 다리 역할을 하며, 전사 전 복합체(pre-initiation complex)의 형성을 위한 골격 역할을 합니다.
Med30은 핵(nucleus)에 존재하며, 뇌, 심장, 신장, 간, 폐, 췌장, 태반, 골격근 등 다양한 조직에서 발현됩니다.
