Lysophospholipases are enzymes that act on biological membranes to regulate multifunctional lysophospholipids.
The LYPLA1 protein hydrolyzes lysophosphatidylcholine in both monomeric and micellar forms.
Alternate polyadenylation sites have been found for this gene, and alternatively spliced transcript variants are described, though the full-length nature is not yet known.
