Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 37 kDa 크기의 동일한 4개 소단위로 구성된 테트라머 형태로 존재합니다. NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시킵니다. 해당과정 외에도 GAPDH는 DNA 복제, 수리, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 세포 노화, 신경퇴행성 질환, 암 등에서 유전자 발현과 세포사멸(apoptosis)에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로 Western blot 분석 시 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
