SCCPDH (Probable saccharopine dehydrogenase)는 429 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질로, saccharopine dehydrogenase 계열에 속합니다. SCCPDH 유전자는 침팬지, 개, 소, 생쥐, 쥐, 닭, 초파리, 모기, C. elegans 등에서 보존되어 있으며 인간 염색체 1q44에 위치합니다. 염색체 1은 약 2억 6천만 염기쌍으로 구성되어 인간 게놈의 약 8%를 차지하며 약 3,000개의 유전자를 포함합니다. 이 염색체에는 Stickler 증후군, 파킨슨병, 고셔병, 우셔 증후군 등 다양한 질환이 연관되어 있습니다. 또한 DISC1 유전자의 파손과 관련된 1q 영역의 절단점이 조현병과 연관되어 있으며, 두경부암, 악성 흑색종, 다발성 골수종 등 다양한 암에서도 염색체 1의 이상이 보고되었습니다.
