Target Information
ATAD3B is a member of the AAA ATPase family, a group of proteins that catalyze ATP into ADP and are involved in various cellular functions including cell-cycle regulation, protein proteolysis, and transport.
The AAA ATPase family is characterized by a conserved AAA motif containing Walker homology sequences that confer ATPase activity.
Mitochondrial membrane proteins ATAD3A/B contribute to the stabilization of nucleoids and may play roles in transformation pathways and chemosensitivity of oligodendrogliomas.
The genes encoding ATAD3A/B/C map to human chromosome 1 and have been suggested to act as anti-apoptotic markers.
