Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-5. Anti-Human IL-5-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IL-5 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-5 (500-P25) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IL-5.

Western Blot:
To detect Human IL-5 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IL-5 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. It is a key regulator of eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 production is associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.
The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer, sharing its beta subunit with IL-3 and GM-CSF receptors. IL-5, along with IL-4, IL-13, and CSF2, forms a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31, regulated by long-range elements over 120 kb.
