NALP 단백질은 세포질 내 단백질로, CATERPILLER 패밀리 내의 하위 그룹을 형성하며 세포 증식과 생식에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
NALP13은 C-말단에 leucine-rich repeat (LRR) 영역, N-말단에 Pyrin domain (PYD), 그리고 NACHT 및 NACHT-associated domain을 포함합니다.
NALP13의 기능은 아직 명확히 밝혀지지 않았으나, inflammasome을 통한 염증성 caspase의 활성화에 관여할 가능성이 제시되었습니다.
