NALP 단백질은 세포질 내에 존재하며 CATERPILLER 계열의 하위군을 형성합니다. NALP14는 C-말단 leucine-rich repeat (LRR) 영역, N-말단 Pyrin domain (PYD), NACHT domain 및 NACHT-associated domain을 포함합니다. NALP14는 정자 형성 과정(spermatogenesis)에 관여할 가능성이 있으며, 유전자 변이가 생식 실패를 유발할 수 있다고 알려져 있습니다.
