Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6)는 cytochrome P450 효소 슈퍼패밀리의 구성원으로, 약물 대사 및 콜레스테롤·스테로이드·지질 합성에 관여하는 monooxygenase입니다. 이 단백질은 소포체에 위치하며, 일반적으로 처방되는 약물의 약 20%를 대사합니다. 주요 기질로는 debrisoquine(교감신경 차단제), sparteine 및 propafenone(항부정맥제), amitryptiline(항우울제) 등이 있습니다.
CYP2D6 유전자는 인구 내 다형성이 높으며, 특정 대립유전자는 기질 대사 능력이 저하된 poor metabolizer 표현형을 나타냅니다. 해당 유전자는 염색체 22q13.1 부근의 두 개의 cytochrome P450 pseudogene 근처에 위치하며, 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 전사체 변이체가 존재합니다.
