Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as cancer or disease biomarkers.
This gene is one of fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located on chromosome 19 and may be involved in proteolytic cascades in the skin and act as an ovarian cancer biomarker.
Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
