Target Information
VPS35 belongs to a group of vacuolar protein sorting (VPS) genes. The encoded protein is a component of the retromer complex, which mediates retrograde transport of proteins from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network. The structural similarity between yeast and human retromer components suggests functional conservation. Expression studies show direct interaction with VPS35, the core of the retromer complex.
