Target Information
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an essential cellular mechanism for degrading abnormal or short-lived proteins. Ubiquitination involves three enzyme classes:
- E1 – Ubiquitin-activating enzymes
- E2 – Ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes
- E3 – Ubiquitin-protein ligases
UBE2L3 (UBCH7) is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family and participates in the ubiquitination of p53, c-Fos, and NF-kB precursor p105 in vitro.
