Target Information
TSEN15 is a non-catalytic subunit of the tRNA-splicing endonuclease complex, responsible for identifying and cleaving splice sites in pre-tRNA. It releases introns and generates tRNA half-molecules with 2',3'-cyclic phosphate and 5'-OH termini. Although splice sites lack conserved sequences, introns are consistently located at the same gene position. The complex also participates in mRNA processing through association with pre-mRNA 3'-end processing factors, linking tRNA splicing and mRNA 3'-end formation. This suggests multifunctional roles of endonuclease subunits in various RNA-processing events.
