Target Information
PGP9.5 (Protein Gene Product 9.5, UCH-L1, PARK5)는 신경세포 특이 단백질로, neuron specific enolase와 구조적·면역학적으로 구별됩니다. 분자량은 약 27 kDa이며, ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase family 1 (peptidase family C12)에 속합니다.
PGP9.5는 ubiquitin hydrolase 및 ligase 활성을 가지며, ubiquitin 단량체 생성을 위해 소형 C-말단 부착체를 절단합니다.
이 단백질은 중추 및 말초 신경계의 신경세포와 신경섬유, 신경내분비 세포, 신장 세뇨관 일부, 고환의 정원세포 및 Leydig 세포, 난자, 황체 세포 등에서 발현됩니다.
PGP9.5 과발현은 비소세포성 폐암과 관련이 있으며, 발현 감소는 헌팅턴병 및 알츠하이머병과 연관됩니다.
따라서 PGP9.5는 신경세포 마커로서, 파킨슨병 등 신경퇴행성 질환 연구에 유용하게 사용됩니다.
