UBE1L (ubiquitin-like modifier-activating enzyme 7)은 ATP를 이용해 유비퀴틴의 C-말단 글라이신 잔기를 아데닐화하고, 이를 E1 효소의 시스테인 잔기와 결합시켜 유비퀴틴-E1 티오에스터와 AMP를 생성합니다. 또한, UBE1L은 인플루엔자 A 바이러스 NS1 단백질의 ISGylation을 촉매합니다.
