이 유전자는 에스트로겐 반응 유전자로 확인되었으며, 에스트로겐 수용체가 5' 플랭킹 영역의 에스트로겐 반응 요소에 결합하여 전사를 조절합니다. 이 단백질은 다양한 암에서 높은 빈도로 발현되는 종양 관련 항원입니다. 5' UTR이 다른 두 가지 전사 변이체가 보고되었으며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
