Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
- This antibody is predicted to have broad species reactivity.
Target Information
Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain (SM-MHC) is a cytoplasmic structural protein and a major component of the contractile apparatus in smooth muscle cells.
Its expression is developmentally regulated, appearing early in smooth muscle development and specific to smooth muscle tissues.
Two isoforms of SM-MHC have been identified: MHC-1 and MHC-2.
