Target Information
This receptor is one of several for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone functioning as a neurotransmitter, hormone, and mitogen. Its activity is mediated by G proteins stimulating adenylate cyclase and has a high affinity for tricyclic psychotropic drugs.
